Summer 2014

Chunky ceramic stones landed this summer so we now have chunky ceramic in earthy tones or bright rainbow colours to add to our collection. The range of looks and variety of beads just keeps growing.
Unfortunately we have had to say goodbye to The Silver Gift Gallery in Salisbury, The Olive Tree in Bradford on Avon and The Gem Shop in Dartmouth. Thank you for everything and good luck in your new ventures.
The Gift of Elegance in Dorchester, The Walnut Tree Sixpenny Handley, Casawara in Tisbury have all just restocked so keep an eye out if you are passing.

Sparkle news in January

I hope it is not too late to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous 2014.

We are planning all sorts of new looks for this year - ceramic beads in earthy tones have just been delivered and Sue has already made some into delectable necklaces. The colours blend together perfectly. Look out also for new Mother of Pearl designs and lots of new glass.

Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year

Sue and I would like to thank all you lovely people with your beautiful shops for stocking Sparkle Jewellery this year.
Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and a happy, wealthy and healthy 2014.

Thank you

Jenny and Sue

Add Sparkle to Autumn!

I am writing this on a glorious Autumn day; the hills above me are verdant and the cows are happily munching while the bright sun warms their backs. Long may it continue but the darker evenings are a telling sign to make the most of this because colder, darker days are around the corner.
To combat the gloom, Sue is busy creating sparkling designs and updates to old favourites. No Sparkle necklace is ever the same as the next but some of our new beads are completely new to us and bring even more variety to our ever growing ranges.

News of Summer 2013 from 'Sparkle'

Yet again I must apologise for not writing on my blog for ages.
Summer 2013 is almost over and we have had a bumper summer - both with the weather and sales.
We would like to welcome our new beautiful shops and to thank you all so much for your support and displaying our jewellery so beautifully.
The number one seller this year has definitely been Mother of Pearl, closely followed by glass and natural gemstones in all their different forms.
The enduring styles of cloisonne, pearl, haematite and crystal have remained popular and we are really pleased with how our new look ceramic and African bead has been received.

March is here - Mother's Day and Easter!

Brrr it's cold - but hopefully we will see some sunshine soon to cheer us all up and help us celebrate Mother's Day and Easter which both fall in March this year.

We have been loving the great swathes of snowdrops which have braved the weather and have been particularly spectacular this year. Their delicacy is reflected in our new Mother of Pearl necklaces in pretty pastel tones of pink, green and blue.

I took the train from Exeter to Newton Abbot this week. The tracks follow the sea for a glorious 15 minutes of amazing scenery.

Sorry its been so long

I can't believe I haven't written on the Sparkle blog since last June.
I have updated the photos on the website so you can get a taste of how much has happened since then.
Sue has been so busy and so creative - there are now long, chunky necklaces, medium length and of course the original shorter 16 - 18" length necklaces. The range is now so varied and if I was asked to pick my favourite I wouldn't be able to choose.
I have included images of some of my current favourites - sea tones in glass, natural gemstones in purples and chunky kumbala jasper.

Sparkle in September

Welcome to visitors of our site and again I can only apologise for not updating it recently.
We have been very busy in August and a big thank you to all you lovely people who bought our jewellery over the summer, we really hope you enjoyed wearing it. Colourful mother of pearl has been so popular and would have cheered up the rainiest day!
We are looking forward to Autumn with some beautiful russet mother of pearl to tone in with the gorgeous colours forecast for the new season - russets, plum, heather, soft greys - my personal favourites.

Sparkling June

Welcome to our Sparkle Blog.
Unfortunately the weather is not so sparkling so maybe that is why so many of you are busy buying our lovely bright multi coloured necklaces, we need to cheer ourselves up somehow!
I am sorry the website has not been updated with new images recently; we have been so busy making and finding new stockists we haven't found time but it is high on the list of things to do so watch this space....
We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful spot in Britain and as we travel to new locations, finding delectable shops to stock our stuff we can take in the changing seasons.

April at sjdesigns

This April finds Sue and I in reflective mood as we have been busy moving our elderly mother into a care home. She lived in a beautiful location in Dorset and it is a hard thing to move someone from such a place but she has been so brave about it all. Actually now she is there she is flourishing, her mobility has improved within a month and she has regained her sense of humour. It has made us realise that the things we hang on to the most actually trap us and it is a relief to let go of the anxiety which ownership brings.
